This year sees many changes at Plantessential. Firstly we hope that customers new and old will find this website a valuable and useful resource in enhancing their enjoyment of gardening.

We have teamed up with a courier to provide both a local and national delivery service so if you can't get along to one of our events you will still be able to obtain those nursery fresh plants. We believe the nursery is the best place for any plant to be before you purchase it. Plants are delivered next day from leaving our premises. We have kept the cost of this service as low as we can.

What's new in our plant range? Although the Ferns remain very much the centrepiece of our activities, with a host of new varieties being introduced for sale this Autumn, we've listened to those who require their plants "sunnyside up" and introduced an enhanced range of summer "annuals" (actually all are tender perennials). This whole group is grown from rooted cuttings and is definitely the "crème de la crème" of the summer annuals. Please don't confuse these with mass produced "seedling" bedding plants, nothing wrong with them we just don't sell them.

In this group you will find a fabulous range of Toscana pelargoniums plus 28 separate colours in our series of New Guinea Hybrid impatiens. Over 100 separate varieties in all, supplied as large established plants to give an almost instant effect. Happy choosing!

Late summer and early autumn sees some very new and exciting colours in our cyclamen series, which these days is far more than just winter flowering and indoor. Cyclamen are great outdoors!

All the above plants are grown in our 10.5 cm "dumpy" pots which hold almost half a litre of our own hand mixed composts. (Published volume is .465 L) We incorporate Osmocote patterned release fertiliser that will provide nutrition over a long time frame, typically 8 to 9 months. This is a great start to giving good garden performance. They are all hand potted and carefully selected too!
